Picture of the Week

15th April 2017

Asakusa!

On the left is the second largest building in the world (Sky Tree) and on the right is the Golden Poop.
Some of you might actually remember seeing a similar picture posted on the website, maybe the 4th or 5th picture.
This was one of the trips Louise had planned for us. We actually went up Sky Tree, all the way to the 350th floor.

Could you ask her to call me? https://krplas.com/stmap_21snbbax.html?singulair.elavil.seroquel.viagra klaricid 12h suspension precio "It's an amazing feat of cunning for a tiny fish. Young damsel fish are pale yellow in colour and have this distinctive black circular 'eye' marking towards their tail, which fades as they mature. We figured it must serve an important purpose when they are young. We found that when young damsel fish were placed in a specially built tank where they could see and smell predatory fish without being attacked, they automatically began to grow a bigger eye spot, and their real eye became relatively smaller, compared with damsels exposed only to herbivorous fish, or isolated one," Oona Lonnstedt, a graduate student at CoECRS and James Cook University said in a news release.<br />

Since the name was decided in Japanese, which has no spaces between words, it is not possible to say whether it was intended to be "Tokyo Skytree" or "Tokyo Sky Tree". The official website states "TOKYO SKYTREE" (all caps) as a registered trademark in English, but the version in the logo is clearly "SKY TREE". English-language publications are divided between the two versions.<br />
<br />
The height of 634 m (2,080 ft) was selected to be easily remembered. The figures 6 (mu), 3 (sa), 4 (shi) stand for "Musashi", an old name of the region where the Tokyo Skytree stands.<br />

Also I note that the "Golden Flame" atop the Asahi Building was designed by Phillipe Starck. X N

The Family

This is another picture in Kyoto at the Fushimi Inari-taisha shrine.
A Chinese couple asked us to take a picture for them and then we asked them if they could take a picture of us.

Our first night in Yamanakako

This was taken during our 8th night in Japan. I believe this style of meal is called Korean Barbecue.
After the meal we went back to the hotel and played card games.

Red Head

This picture was taken near Yamanakako after we went up a mountain near Mt. Fuji trying to get a good picture. Sadly we never saw the whole thing, but we did get a good look at 2/3 of it.

Just chillin...

This was taken on the mountain/hill of the Fushimi Inari-taisha shrine (the orange one). Poppy convinced us to go to the 7th viewing station as it has wonderful views of Kyoto and she was right, we could see pretty much the whole of Kyoto, defiantly worth it :)

Just in time!

This picture was taken in Kyoto at the Kinkaku-ji shrine. We literally just made it to this shrine with seconds to spare, the shrine doors close at 4:30 and we arrived in 4:29... cutting it a bit close :D

30th March 2017

Always making new friends :)

Everyday in Kyoto, we'd walk past a very Japanesey restaurant and after a long adventure to Osaka, we'd decided to eat at this restaurant we walk past. Unfortunately it was full, so we compromised with the restaurant next door, consisting of just two people, so not very bust at all. Now my Japanese isn't brilliant and my ability to read Kanji (the hardest of the three written languages) is extremely limited. Luckily we got by with the first dish, some delicious sashimi. After about 20 minutes the gentleman sat in the corner came over and started talking to us in English and started ordering for us! After hours of chatting, eating and sake.. lots of sake, Daisuke decided that he wanted to pay for the whole meal, a big shock to all of us. I plan to include this story in a video I'm making :)

To be fair Daisuke's English was very limited so without your Japanese language skills communication would have been impossible.

No sport :)

Waiting for Godot...

This picture was taking whilst waiting for a taxi at a nearby train station somewhere near Yamanakako.
Not a lot to say other than it was late and we had just see 3/4 of Mt. Fuji :)

24th March 2017

The Sulphurous Mountains of Hakone!

On this day, the family and I went to a mountain near Mt. Fuji. We went there to get some black eggs, which tasted like normal eggs but the shell itself was black.
Within the span of about 30 seconds, you could see about 20 feet in front of you, then you could see this massive mountain.

Looks like Poppy's just tasted the egg! Is that obscured Mt Fuji in the background?
