A scroll in the park.

This was taken just before we left for our winter adventure. So Louise found a lovely park in Meguro and we took thousands of pictures.
The lighting was just perfect as we arrived late and the sun was just setting. After we left the park we went to a burger place and that's where I had my 'Cheese-Cheese-Cheese' burger (Check past PoW's)

Just a funny picture from one of our weekend adventures.

Two weeks ago, Louise and I went to a park in Jio (just 30 minutes away by tram). So Louise told me to sit on this rock in a park and I couldn't help but pull a funny face. This park had an amazing play area for children, it was massive and included a full size steam train where the child could climb inside and turn the dials and pull the levers; one of the children playing with the train reminded me of myself as he was making noises that matched his actions. It always nice to see children having fun.

So this was a burger what we about 2 months ago, it was amazingly delicious until about the third bite, at that point it was very sickly, but still one of the best burgers I've had in Japan

So Louise found this place called Nakamegoro and for just three months they would lite up 1km of trees for just three hours.

This is a picture from Yamadera, one of the cities we visited during our Winter Adventure.

On our adventure we went to a temple which was on the side of a mountain, check out Day 3 on the videos for more information. On the top on the mountain there was a viewing platform, now there was one guy just looking out at the mountains and I thought it would make for a lovely picture.

Our adventure with a De Montfort lecturer.

A good friend of both mine and Louise's came to Japan for christmas. Luckily for us, he came to Tokyo for a couple days before returning to England.

Sam, the De Montfort Lecturer, speaks very good Japanese and as a result has been to Japan many times, now this means that Sam knows all the small, hidden away restaurants that Google can't recommend.

The food on the table is called 'Okonomiyaki', wonderfully delicious.
The main appeal of this restaurant is the owner, she's a middle aged women who is incredibly nice and actually chats to you whilst she cooks, making for a wonderful experience.

We like to call the restaurant "Obayaki" which has two meanings.
"Oba" or "Obaa san" meaning older women
"Yaki" as in "Okonomiyaki"

The View From Yamagata.

This picture was taken just outside our hotel room during our Winter Adventure to Yamagata. It was taken during the early hours of the morning so you can still see the morning clouds over the mountains.
The cables you can see are for a cable cart that runs just outside our hotel.

A bit late I know, but as we haven't gone on any weekend adventures yet I'm having to go through my archives.

This picture was taken near 'Rainbow Bridge', can you spot Rainbow Bridge?
For Near Years Eve, we went to Minato, the wise will know that Minato is where Louise and I went for our first weekend adventure, the the museum of the future.

Fun fact, this picture wasn't taken at 00:00 but at 20:30, the Japanese aren't big in to celebrating the new year, they seem more interested in seeing the first sunrise of the new year. Thousands of people waited near Tokyo Tower to see it.

As previously mentioned, we went to Yokohama and had pancakes for an after lunch snack :)
The pancakes were one of the finest pancakes I've ever had although I could only eat two or three otherwise I'd most likely die :D

Also, six months ago today I arrived in Japan! This also marks the six months Louise and myself have been living together, scary how quickly time flies

This is a picture taken on the pear of Yokohama. The picture was taken by Louise's friend Kanae.
We met up around midday, had a burger for lunch then the best pancakes. All in all, it was a lovely afternoon and our first adventure of the new year.
